A top price for Chu Zhang - as previously expected
In May 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Four Virtues of a Gentleman by Chu Zhang. The auction ended at the price of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 10,925.45), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 80,000.00 – 100,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Four Virtues of a Gentleman is the most expensive artwork by Chu Zhang that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Four Virtues of a Gentleman von Chu Zhang zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 10.925,45) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 100.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Four Virtues of a Gentleman das teuerste Kunstwerk von Chu Zhang, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
