This artwork by Chu Deyi achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April 2015. In the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas auction, the work Seven-Character Couplet In Clerical Script sold for HKD 46,000.00 (€ 5,316.25) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00.
