Dedicated to Yuejia

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Eight Characters Calligraphic Couplet In Clerical Script by Chu Deyi was sold in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. The price achieved of HKD 20,000.00 (€ 2,114.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chu Deyi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seven-Character Couplet In Clerical Script, which sold at auction in April 2015 for HKD 46,000.00 (€ 5,316.25).

Die Arbeit Eight Characters Calligraphic Couplet In Clerical Script von Chu Deyi wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 20.000,00 (€ 2.114,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Chu Deyi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Seven-Character Couplet In Clerical Script beobachtet, die im April 2015 für HKD 46.000,00 (€ 5.316,25) versteigert wurde.
