Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Figures by a Dutch canal; and At the banks of a woodland stream by Christopher William Strange for GBP 352.50 (€ 514.86). This price was achieved in the auction At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Christopher William Strange have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pheasant shooting; and Duck shooting in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,800.52).
