Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters, which included the work Hunters With Their Dog, Game And Hunting Equipment by Christiaen van Couwenbergh. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,149.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christiaen van Couwenbergh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Merry Company Drinking And Playing Music, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,847.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hunters With Their Dog, Game And Hunting Equipment von Christiaen van Couwenbergh zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.149,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Christiaen van Couwenbergh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Merry Company Drinking And Playing Music beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.847,07) versteigert wurde.
