Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work View from Copenhagen with the tower of the stock market by Christian Mølsted was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in December 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 20,000.00 (€ 2,329.74). Other works by Christian Mølsted have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May this year by the work “Fregatten Jylland” at DKK 23,000.00 (€ 3,087.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit View from Copenhagen with the tower of the stock market von Christian Mølsted im Dezember 2012 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 20.000,00 (€ 2.329,74) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Christian Mølsted wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres die Arbeit “Fregatten Jylland” mit DKK 23.000,00 (€ 3.087,10).
