Auction result well in line with expectations
The work River Landscape With A Windmill; River Landscape With A Fortified House by Christian Hilfgott Brand was sold in the Old Master and British Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in October 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,126.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Christian Hilfgott Brand have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Mountainous Landscape With Ancient Ruins On A Hill; And A Mountainous Landscape With Cattle Fording A Stream in April 2008 with an auction result of EUR 90,250.00.
