Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2009 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Workaholic by Choi Byung Jin. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 55,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 62,500.00 (€ 5,707.56). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Choi Byung Jin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bang Mang-I & Bang Deng-I, which sold at auction in November 2007 for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 16,390.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2009 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Workaholic von Choi Byung Jin zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 55.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 62.500,00 (€ 5.707,56) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Choi Byung Jin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bang Mang-I & Bang Deng-I beobachtet, die im November 2007 für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 16.390,93) versteigert wurde.
