In April 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Arbor Deus Pennatus by Choe U-Ram. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 875,000.00 (€ 98,581.85), 59% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Choe U-Ram; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Varietal Urbanus Female (Scientific Name: Anmopista Volaticus Floris Uram) sold at auction in May 2007 with the realized price of HKD 1,560,000.00 (€ 148,543.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Im April 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Arbor Deus Pennatus von Choe U-Ram zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 875.000,00 (€ 98.581,85) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Choe U-Ram; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Varietal Urbanus Female (Scientific Name: Anmopista Volaticus Floris Uram) im Mai 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.560.000,00 (€ 148.543,82).
