The work Shiratsuyu of the Ogiya, from the series Wakana no hatsu isho (New dresses like fresh young plants) by Chobunsai Eishi was sold in the Japanese And Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2008. The auction ended at the price of USD 3,000.00 (€ 1,898.13), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chobunsai Eishi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beauty writing a poem on a fan in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 229,000.00 (€ 144,890.86).
