In the From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints Online auction, the work Dochu No Zu, Tamaya Hanamurasaki (The Courtersan Hanamurasaki Of The Tamaya House Parading) sold for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,558.09) - well above the upper estimate of USD 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chobunsai Eishi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beauty writing a poem on a fan in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 229,000.00 (€ 144,890.86).
