Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese & Korean Art Including Arts of the Meiji Period, which included the work Beauty reading a letter by Chobunsai Eishi. Here, the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 22,500.00 (€ 16,542.90). Admittedly, works by Chobunsai Eishi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Beauty writing a poem on a fan in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 229,000.00 (€ 144,890.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Japanese & Korean Art Including Arts of the Meiji Period durch, in der auch die Arbeit Beauty reading a letter von Chobunsai Eishi zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 22.500,00 (€ 16.542,90) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chobunsai Eishi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Beauty writing a poem on a fan im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 229.000,00 (€ 144.890,86).
