Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Melody Day and Night, 1981 by Cho Sung Hee for USD 125.00 (€ 91.91). This price was achieved in the auction Japanese & Korean Art Including Arts of the Meiji Period at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cho Sung Hee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Light Red Blossoms in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 875,000.00 (€ 99,112.03).

Im September 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Melody Day and Night, 1981 von Cho Sung Hee für USD 125,00 (€ 91,91) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Japanese & Korean Art Including Arts of the Meiji Period bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cho Sung Hee erzielen.
