The work Skin by Chiharu Shiota was sold in the 10th Shanghai Auction Anniversary: 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in September this year. It achieved a price of CNY 819,000.00 (€ 106,011.90), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 64%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chiharu Shiota - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work State of Being, which sold at auction in July 2021 for GBP 287,500.00 (€ 337,153.36).

Die Arbeit Skin von Chiharu Shiota wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion 10th Shanghai Auction Anniversary: 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von CNY 819.000,00 (€ 106.011,90) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 64%. Für andere Arbeiten von Chiharu Shiota mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit State of Being beobachtet, die im Juli 2021 für GBP 287.500,00 (€ 337.153,36) versteigert wurde.
