Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Les tours de Babel dans le monde - 1999 by Chéri Samba was sold in the A Moroccan Winter auction at Artcurial in December this year. The price achieved of MAD 131,200.00 (€ 12,002.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as MAD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chéri Samba have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Congolese J'Aime La Couleur in April 2019 with an auction result of GBP 93,750.00 (€ 109,058.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Les tours de Babel dans le monde - 1999 von Chéri Samba wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion A Moroccan Winter bei Artcurial versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von MAD 131.200,00 (€ 12.002,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit MAD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chéri Samba auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Congolese J'Aime La Couleur im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 93.750,00 (€ 109.058,34).
