Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale, which included the work Life in Bali by Cheong Soo Pieng. The price achieved of HKD 4,032,000.00 (€ 483,279.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cheong Soo Pieng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nature's Inspiration, which sold at auction in November this year for HKD 11,507,000.00 (€ 1,350,289.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Life in Bali von Cheong Soo Pieng zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 4.032.000,00 (€ 483.279,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 3.000.000,00 – 5.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Cheong Soo Pieng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nature's Inspiration beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für HKD 11.507.000,00 (€ 1.350.289,70) versteigert wurde.
