Auction result misses estimated price range
In December last year a collector was able to acquire the work Fishing by Cheong Soo Pieng for HKD 696,000.00 (€ 83,405.50). This price was achieved in the auction Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art at Bonhams in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 750,000.00 – 1,000,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cheong Soo Pieng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nature's Inspiration in November this year with an auction result of HKD 11,507,000.00 (€ 1,350,289.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Fishing von Cheong Soo Pieng für HKD 696.000,00 (€ 83.405,50) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 750.000,00 – 1.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cheong Soo Pieng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nature's Inspiration im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 11.507.000,00 (€ 1.350.289,70).
