Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century Art Day Sale, which included the work By the River by Cheong Soo Pieng. The price achieved of HKD 201,600.00 (€ 24,158.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 160,000.00 – 260,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cheong Soo Pieng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nature's Inspiration in November this year with an auction result of HKD 11,507,000.00 (€ 1,350,289.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit By the River von Cheong Soo Pieng zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 201.600,00 (€ 24.158,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 160.000,00 – 260.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cheong Soo Pieng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nature's Inspiration im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 11.507.000,00 (€ 1.350.289,70).
