Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Abstract Landscape by Cheong Laitong was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 93,750.00 (€ 10,952.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cheong Laitong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in May 2014 for HKD 300,000.00 (€ 28,372.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Abstract Landscape von Cheong Laitong kam im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 93.750,00 (€ 10.952,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Cheong Laitong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Unknown beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für HKD 300.000,00 (€ 28.372,43) versteigert wurde.
