This artwork by Chen Zizhuang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2017. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Thousand Character Essay In Cursive Script sold for HKD 387,500.00 (€ 45,738.87) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 220,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chen Zizhuang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Peonies And Rock in November 2013 with an auction result of HKD 2,320,000.00 (€ 219,961.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Zizhuang erzielte im April 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Thousand Character Essay In Cursive Script für HKD 387.500,00 (€ 45.738,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 220.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Zizhuang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Peonies And Rock im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.320.000,00 (€ 219.961,78).
