Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy Couplet in Running Script by Chen Yuan was sold in the Chinese PaintingsThe Online Sale auction at Bonhams in Hong Kong in March last year. The price achieved of HKD 7,012.50 (€ 807.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Yuan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Correspondence in December this year with an auction result of HKD 478,800.00 (€ 55,402.64).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Running Script von Chen Yuan wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Chinese PaintingsThe Online Sale bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 7.012,50 (€ 807,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Yuan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Correspondence im Dezember diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 478.800,00 (€ 55.402,64).
