A top price for Chen Xian
This artwork by Chen Xian achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2015. In the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas auction, the work Ink Bamboo sold for HKD 73,160.00 (€ 8,547.04) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 40,000.00. This high result makes Ink Bamboo the most expensive artwork by Chen Xian that we have observed at auctions so far.
