In November 2015 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Calligraphy In Running Script by Chen Xian. The auction ended at the price of HKD 30,000.00 (€ 3,664.08), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 24,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Xian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ink Bamboo, which sold at auction in October 2015 for HKD 73,160.00 (€ 8,547.04).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2015 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script von Chen Xian zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 30.000,00 (€ 3.664,08) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 24.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Xian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ink Bamboo beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für HKD 73.160,00 (€ 8.547,04) versteigert wurde.
