Upper estimate price exceeded by 51 %.
In January last year Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Eclectic, which included the work Calligraphy #4 by Chen Ting-Shih. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 30,240.00 (€ 3,460.39), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Ting-Shih achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Four Seasons in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 1,500,000.00 (€ 164,345.17).
