The work Calligraphy by Chen Qimei was worth HKD 860,000.00 (€ 79,420.66) to a buyer in October 2011. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00 many times over. This high result makes Calligraphy the most expensive artwork by Chen Qimei that we have observed at auctions so far.
