Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Calligraphy by Chen Qimei was sold in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2020. The auction ended at the price of HKD 10,000.00 (€ 1,079.68), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Qimei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in October 2011 with an auction result of HKD 860,000.00 (€ 79,420.66).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Calligraphy von Chen Qimei wurde im November 2020 in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 10.000,00 (€ 1.079,68) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 8.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Qimei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 860.000,00 (€ 79.420,66).
