Upper estimate price exceeded by 25 %.
In April 2004 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY, which included the work Lotus Root by Chen Mei. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 50,190.00 (€ 3,257.90), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Mei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Religious Procession in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 60,928.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im April 2004 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lotus Root von Chen Mei zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 50.190,00 (€ 3.257,90) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Mei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Religious Procession im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 500.000,00 (€ 60.928,34).
