Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy In Seal Script by Chen Julai was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,116.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Julai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Zhuanshu in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 2,062,500.00 (€ 243,448.83).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy In Seal Script von Chen Julai wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.116,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Julai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Zhuanshu im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.062.500,00 (€ 243.448,83).
