In May 2007 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Flower and Birds by Chen Jiayan. The result of HKD 60,000.00 (€ 5,713.22) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chen Jiayan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Birds, Narcissus and Pine in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 47,105.02).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flower and Birds von Chen Jiayan zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 60.000,00 (€ 5.713,22) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Jiayan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Birds, Narcissus and Pine im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 47.105,02).
