In May 2011 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work Young Man with Curly Hair in Red Clothes by Chen Danqing. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 225,000.00 (€ 20,127.30), 61% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Danqing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tibetan Cowboys in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 6,730,000.00 (€ 762,313.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 61 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese 20th Century Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Young Man with Curly Hair in Red Clothes von Chen Danqing zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 225.000,00 (€ 20.127,30) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Danqing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tibetan Cowboys im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.730.000,00 (€ 762.313,13).
