NOTE:
During her incarceration at Suzhou Prison from 1946 to 1949 and at Tilanqiao Prison in Shanghai from 1949 until her death in 1959, Chen Bijun produced books of poetry using prison-issued notebooks with plain blue covers. During this period, Chen spent much of her time reading and writing. Hand-copying works of poetry was favourite activity among the intelligensia at Tilanqiao Prison. Lots 1340-1342 include verses from Wang Jingwei’s Shuangzhaolou shicigao, including the Xiaoxiuji and Saoyeji c

Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings, which included the work Ci from Shuangzhaolou by Chen Bijun. The price achieved of HKD 225,000 (€ 25,692) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as HKD 180,000 - 280,000. Other works by Chen Bijun have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2010 the work was auctioned for HKD 524,000 (€ 50,738).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ci from Shuangzhaolou von Chen Bijun zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 225.000 (€ 25.692) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 180.000 – 280.000 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Chen Bijun konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im April 2010 die Arbeit für HKD 524.000 (€ 50.738) versteigert.
