In October 2002 Christies in London held the auction THE SCOTTISH SALE, which included the work Wooded landscape with travellers on a path by Charlotte Nasmyth. The price achieved of GBP 4,780.00 (€ 7,561.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Wooded landscape with travellers on a path is the most expensive artwork by Charlotte Nasmyth that we have observed at auctions so far.
