Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Punch and Judy by Charles Willis was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2013. The price achieved of GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,214.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Willis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elegant company relaxing in a drawing room, which sold at auction in August 2000 for GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,689.48).
