Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 700.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 780.00 (€ 1,158.32). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Willis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elegant company relaxing in a drawing room, which sold at auction in August 2000 for GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,689.48).

Die Arbeit Her Anniversary von Charles Willis kam im November 2006 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 780,00 (€ 1.158,32) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Willis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Elegant company relaxing in a drawing room beobachtet, die im August 2000 für GBP 1.645,00 (€ 2.689,48) versteigert wurde.
