This artwork by Charles Wilda achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2008. In the 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale auction, the work German The Snake Charmer sold for USD 79,000.00 (€ 50,745.12) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Wilda have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Egyptian Antiques Seller in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 300,000.00 (€ 347,978.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Wilda erzielte im April 2008 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale wurde die Arbeit German The Snake Charmer für USD 79.000,00 (€ 50.745,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Wilda auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Egyptian Antiques Seller im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 300.000,00 (€ 347.978,48).
