The work Brancaster by Charles Whymper was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2001. It achieved a price of GBP 564.00 (€ 910.07), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 61%. Admittedly, works by Charles Whymper have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red grouse in flight in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,330.11).

Die Arbeit Brancaster von Charles Whymper kam im März 2001 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 564,00 (€ 910,07) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 61%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Whymper auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red grouse in flight im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.330,11).
