In July 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Cows In The Corner of A Field by Charles Walter Simpson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 840.00 (€ 1,229.66), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Walter Simpson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Flight Of The Wild Duck in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,274.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cows In The Corner of A Field von Charles Walter Simpson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 840,00 (€ 1.229,66) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Walter Simpson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Flight Of The Wild Duck im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.274,96).
