Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Among The Waterlilies by Charles Walter Simpson was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,802.52). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Walter Simpson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Flight Of The Wild Duck, which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,274.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Among The Waterlilies von Charles Walter Simpson im Juli 2007 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.600,00 (€ 9.802,52) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Walter Simpson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Flight Of The Wild Duck beobachtet, die im Juni 2011 für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.274,96) versteigert wurde.
