Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2005 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Highland cattle in a misty landscape; and Highland cattle in a landscape, sunset by Charles W. Oswald. The price achieved of GBP 456.00 (€ 666.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles W. Oswald - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cattle watering in a loch landscape, which sold at auction in May 2004 for GBP 1,195.00 (€ 1,792.94).

Im August 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Highland cattle in a misty landscape; and Highland cattle in a landscape, sunset von Charles W. Oswald zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 456,00 (€ 666,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles W. Oswald mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cattle watering in a loch landscape beobachtet, die im Mai 2004 für GBP 1.195,00 (€ 1.792,94) versteigert wurde.
