Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two old smokers by Charles Spencelayh was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in September this year. The price achieved of GBP 11,520.00 (€ 11,520.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Spencelayh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Time On His Hands in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 265,600.00 (€ 384,318.77).
