Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Portrait of a girl by Charles Spencelayh. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 768.00 (€ 889.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Spencelayh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Time On His Hands in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 265,600.00 (€ 384,318.77).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a girl von Charles Spencelayh zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 768,00 (€ 889,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Spencelayh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Time On His Hands im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 265.600,00 (€ 384.318,77).
