Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2003 Christies in London held the auction At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper, which included the work A young child with a toy boat by Charles Sims. The price achieved of GBP 117.50 (€ 171.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25.00 – 200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Sims achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In Elysium in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 36,000.00 (€ 53,428.51).

Im Oktober 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion At Home-British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young child with a toy boat von Charles Sims zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 117,50 (€ 171,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 25,00 – 200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Sims erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In Elysium im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.000,00 (€ 53.428,51).
