Despite a disappointment, a good price for Charles Roelofsz
When the work A Drunk by Charles Roelofsz was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,875.00. Despite this disappointing result, A Drunk is the most expensive artwork by Charles Roelofsz that we have observed at auction so far.

Als die Arbeit A Drunk von Charles Roelofsz im Juni 2014 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.875,00 den Besitzer.
