Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2003 Christies in London held the auction 20TH C BRIT ART INC. WORKS FROM THE STUDIO OF HILDA CARLINE, which included the work Melanie by Charles McCall. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 881.25 (€ 1,287.15). Admittedly, works by Charles McCall have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Housework in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,400.00 (€ 7,946.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20TH C BRIT ART INC. WORKS FROM THE STUDIO OF HILDA CARLINE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Melanie von Charles McCall zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 881,25 (€ 1.287,15) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles McCall auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Housework im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.400,00 (€ 7.946,47).
