A young lady, in white dress, double strand coral necklace, rope of pearls twisted in her upswept and curled fair hair; together with a lady, in white dress with ruffled collar, black lace shawl tied at corsage, curling powdered hair (English School, circa 1790); together with a gentleman, in black coat and waistcoat and ruffled cravat, curling dark hair (American School, circa 1810); together with a young lady in white dress with fichu, long powdered curling hair (English School, circa 1790)
signed and dated 'CHayter 1802' (mid-right) and signed and dated indistinctly on the reverse of the backing paper '[...]ted by Chas Hayter [.]n. [..]ril, 1802 [......] [.]'
ovals, 2 9/16 in. (65 mm.) high, gilt-metal frame, the reverse with seed pearl initials ML on blue glass crescent with seed-pearl surround (deficient) within locks of hair, gold wire and seed pearls on opalescent glass and 1¾ in. (45 mm.), 2 11/16 in. (68 mm.) and 2 11/16 in. (68 mm.) high, gilt-metal mounts, the latter with gilt-metal frame, the reverse with central lock of hair within plaited hair border and blue glass surround (4)
