Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work Blue Race by Charles Harper. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 5,245.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Harper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Prolonged Delay, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,478.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Blue Race von Charles Harper zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 5.245,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Harper mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Prolonged Delay beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 7.800,00 (€ 11.478,23) versteigert wurde.
