Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Irish Art, which included the work Blue Race by Charles Harper. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 5,026.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Harper - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Prolonged Delay, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,478.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Blue Race von Charles Harper zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 5.026,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Harper mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Prolonged Delay beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 7.800,00 (€ 11.478,23) versteigert wurde.
