Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Harold Davis could be acquired at Christies in New York in July 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Off Cape Cod changed hands for USD 2,868.00 (€ 2,927.73) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Harold Davis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Clearing in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 44,650.00 (€ 51,357.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Harold Davis konnte im Juli 2002 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Off Cape Cod für USD 2.868,00 (€ 2.927,73) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Harold Davis erzielen.
