Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Frederick Lowcock could be acquired at Sothebys in Olympia in July 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings auction, the work A Classical Beauty changed hands for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,673.42) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Frederick Lowcock - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Feeding Time, which sold at auction in September 2004 for GBP 7,170.00 (€ 10,445.78).
