In November 2010 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Rocky Shore, Macgregor Bay, Ont. by Charles Comfort. The auction ended at the price of CAD 9,000.00 (€ 6,724.46), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of CAD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. Other works by Charles Comfort have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2012 the work The Varley Tree, Georgian Bay was auctioned for CAD 10,200.00 (€ 7,970.92).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2010 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rocky Shore, Macgregor Bay, Ont. von Charles Comfort zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von CAD 9.000,00 (€ 6.724,46) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Charles Comfort konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2012 die Arbeit The Varley Tree, Georgian Bay für CAD 10.200,00 (€ 7.970,92) versteigert.
